For ordinary shop windows, the state of mannequins directly affects the shop image and customer attraction. However, during long-term use, mannequins are prone to colour fading, wear and tear, loose joints and other problems.

Ultraviolet rays from the sun are the number one culprit for the fading of mannequins. Applying UV film to window glass is a very cost-effective means of protection. It is recommended to choose automotive grade UV film, of which the light grey film can effectively block ultraviolet rays, but will not significantly affect the shop's internal lighting, and from the external appearance of the visual effect is more comfortable. The film costs around $15 per square metre and reduces fading by up to 70%. The operation is not complicated, you just need to carefully remove the old film with a squeegee and reapply the new film at the time of the annual seasonal change.

When mannequins are not in use for a long period of time, it is important to protect them from dust and light. You can put on a white cotton old T-shirt for the mannequin, the cotton material is soft and skin-friendly, it will not cause scratches on the surface of the mannequin, and compared with chemical fibre fabric, it is not easy to produce static electricity, which can effectively reduce dust adsorption. For the head of the mannequin, use the common supermarket plastic bag for wrapping, but remember to leave a few ventilation holes on the bag.

The joints of the mannequin move frequently and are prone to dryness, jamming and even damage. In order to keep the joints running flexibly, applying petroleum jelly to the shoulder and elbow joints once a month is a simple and effective way. Vaseline has good lubricating and sealing properties, forming a protective film on the joint surface and reducing friction between metal and plastic parts. For finger joints, which move more frequently and have a relatively delicate structure, inserting a 2mm thick transparent rubber band can play a good role in cushioning friction, making finger joints move more smoothly and naturally, and prolonging the service life of the joints.

I believe that if you close the shop every night, give the mannequin a thin layer of Vaseline on the exposed skin parts, and then use cling film to apply Vaseline parts wrapped up overnight, will be able to effectively prevent your female mannequin bust, female hanging mannequin, female hanging torso mannequin and so on! The probability of the mannequin looking as good as it did increases a lot.
